The MercedesTrophy is an exclusive golf tournament series which has the aim of maintaining and supporting existing client contacts. Each year more than 57,000 players in over 50 countries tee off in the MercedesTrophy. The client invitational tournament series is constantly expanding in line with the growth in golf's popularity in many countries and the growing numbers of Mercedes-Benz clients taking up the sport.
The international series has a three-stage tournament format. It begins with invitational tournaments at local level, where players can qualify for the subsequent National Final (as is the case in Germany) or the Regional Final (as in the Latin American region, for example). The climax is the World Final, which is traditionally held at "the home" of the automobile – the Stuttgart region – in September. In doing so, the Mercedes-Benz brand underlines its close associations with golf.
Players who have won their National or Regional Final qualify for the World Final. The international face of the MercedesTrophy is demonstrated by the field of participating players: year after year, finalists from over 50 different countries travel to Stuttgart for the World Final.
This year's MercedesTrophy World Final takes place from 24 to 28 September.
